My work seeks to highlight the hidden connections between us all - regardless of race, culture, gender, and the other ways we categorize ourselves as humans. By utilizing ancient mythologies, the patterns that reoccur in nature, and scientific principles/laws as allegories & symbols to reveal and highlight these connections, I allow for a subtle entryway into the grander effort of cross cultural/ various isms community building. The things that make us who we are, at the molecular level, originate from the cosmos. Effectively, we are the embodiments of the effort the universe takes to interpret and convene with itself. As an agent of the universe, we are all born with purpose and value. Even before we are placed or choose to subscribe to any community, or social neighborhood, we are tethered together through our original connection, nature. As we look past demographic and social markers, we will see an intricate and innate tapestry of connection to each other, and furthermore to all beings. Can we build a neighborhood for all if we cannot find commonality with our fellow man? My work aims to answer this question.
