Caleb Williams

I am an activist, artist, and creative director, who seeks to challenge and inspire my audience through my paintings, photography, and video work. A product of New York, I have spent my life immersed in the cultural multitude that makes my home so unique. Living in a city such as New York has allowed me to witness the different characteristics that make up New York, from fashion, poverty, art culture, gentrification, injustice, and diversity. Through my work, I seek to capture, work through, and reinterpret the beautiful, the ugly, and the unpolished aspects of society that define our era. As a woman of color, I found my heart in vocalizing the social injustices that affect minorities regularly.

My artist name Urban Jungle is more than a name, it is a spark. Urban Jungle is the desire to do more—the passion to speak out. Urban Jungle is a safe space where untold stories can be shared and told through art mediums ranging from painting to video. The purpose of Urban Jungle is to highlight stories and conversations that society deems unworthy or categorized as weird. Urban Jungle is a fire that burns inside every individual in the face of injustice. As I inspire my audience, I hope to turn the city made of steel and concrete into a living, breathing body, capable of growing and evolving into something beautiful.
